Please read the Frequently Asked Questions page before you send a message. The answer to your question may be there.
FoPRR is in touch with the Pine Ridge and other reservations’ organizations that we support; however, FoPRR is not located on the reservation and is not affiliated with the Oglala Lakota or any other tribe. If you have questions about donating, please ask.
Please do not request information related to locating friends or relatives, pen pals for you, your children or a school classroom, assistance for individuals or families, tribal status, tribal functions, medical records, genealogical research, translations, hemp, political issues, prisoners, spirituality, employment, teaching, or travel.
Please note: This e-mail will reach the FoPRR website owner only and no one on Pine Ridge Reservation. Messages cannot be forwarded to anyone on the reservation.
A Note About Shipping:
All of the schools and organizations that receive donations go to the post office regularly to pick up their mail as there is no mail delivery.
Since UPS and FedEx will not ship to a P.O. Box address and there are no street names on the reservation, each school and organization has a fictional street address. Those fictional street addresses are accepted by UPS and FedEx since they won’t ship to a post office box and, but the UPS and FedEx drivers on the reservation know where all of the organizations are physically located so all of the boxes get delivered with no problem.
Please be sure to use the P.O. Box addresses only if shipping via the post office, and the “street” addresses only if shipping via UPS and FedEx. Thank you!
PHONE SCAM ALERT!
If you’ve received a phone call soliciting donations for “Pine Ridge Reservation” recently please consider it a scam and do not provide any credit card information. Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation does NOT, has never and will never, place phone calls soliciting donations at any time and you should be suspicious of any and all such solicitations!
Unfortunately, there are many scammers out there preying on people in the name of Native Americans. Be wary of requests by third parties looking for donations from you so they can send help to the reservation. All donation drives listed on the FoPRR website involve donor-to-reservation donations only, there are never any third-party charities in between your donations and the various reservation entities that need them.
Also, FoPRR itself is not a charity and does not accept donations – all donations go directly to Pine Ridge Reservation organizations. NO organization will ever be authorized to fund-raise for FoPRR, so please be aware if someone asks you to donate materials or funds on behalf of or in the name of FoPRR, it is not a legitimate request. If you’d like to make a monetary donation, please check this page for where and how to do so.
Regarding deliveries, I absolutely cannot confirm delivery of your donations. There are many, many boxes that get sent to many different reservations’ organizations each month and I am not there to check on them. If you need verification, use your UPS or FedEx tracking number or purchase proof of delivery from the post office. Most online vendors will let you know if there is a delivery issue, but they are very rare. Thanks so much for your help!
