Good morning Chris,

Boy!!!! We had fun with St. Patrick’s Day. All the students and staff had necklaces, and the students decorated their door and hallway with streamers and shamrocks. They also made green Kool-Aid.  We wouldn’t be able to do all the activities without your help. Thank you so much.

All the students went on an Easter egg hunt and had classroom parties. They also decorated the multi-purpose room with balloons and had a family meeting for Easter – we had a wonderful Friday, Thank you!!!!

Mrs. Etta Shirley, Principal

This thank you is from Jack Norton Elementary and Weitchpec Yurok Magnet School on the Yurok Reservation for our St. Patrick’s Day and Easter donations.

April 15, 2026

Dear Friends of the Pine Ridge Reservation Donors,

On behalf of both Weitchpec Elementary School and Jack Norton Elementary School, I would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude for your incredible generosity and continued support. Your thoughtful donations for our St. Patrick’s Day decorations and student incentives truly brought our schools to life. Classrooms were filled with color, laughter, and excitement, and our students felt the joy and pride that comes from such a festive and engaging environment. You helped turn an ordinary school day into something truly special. Additionally, your generous contribution of Easter candy and eggs made it possible for us to host a large and unforgettable Easter egg hunt for both of our schools. Because of you, our students experienced pure joy—running, laughing, and celebrating together. It was more than just an event; it was a day filled with happiness, connection, and memories that our students will carry with them.

Your kindness and support mean so much more than words can fully express. You are not only providing resources—you are creating experiences, building community, and showing our students that they are valued, supported, and cared for. The impact you’ve made on both Weitchpec and Jack Norton Elementary is truly meaningful and deeply appreciated. Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your commitment to our students. We are beyond grateful to have your support and partnership.

With sincere appreciation,

Tanisha Warden

Re: Food and Household donations

Aye ye-kwee Chris & Donors,

All of us here in the Elders Nutrition Program would like to sincerely thank you for your ongoing generosity and support of our Yurok elders.

Your recent donation included a thoughtful variety of essential food items that truly make a difference to those we serve. Staples such as dried beans and lentils, rice, oats, pasta, canned soups, tuna, and salmon help ensure that each elder has nourishing meals. Also, their pantry favorites like peanut butter, jam, tortillas, cereal, and crackers, along with baking and seasoning goods add both comfort and variety that our elders always appreciate. The addition of special treats such as the smoked ham and girl scout cookies brought that much more extra joy and many smiles too! We are also deeply grateful for the personal care items and household necessities you’ve provided, like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, dish and laundry
soap, tissues and toilet paper.

Your continued support truly means so much to our program and the elders we serve. The kindness and care behind each donation make a meaningful and lasting impact on their quality of life. On behalf of the Yurok Tribal Elders Nutrition Program,
Wok-hlew (thank you!).

Sincerely,

Fawn Beall,
Administrative Assistant
Yurok Tribe Title VI Elders Nutrition Program

This is for the clothing drive we did for the 20 members of a family whose two trailers burned down! You can help here with household items for them and the families in the apartment building that burned down just days later!

January 27, 2026

Friends of Pine Ridge,

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your generous donations towards our 2 trailer house fires victims here in Allen on the Pine Ridge Reservation.  Your generous donations have been coming into the school and at the post office!  All the 20 victims have received plenty of clothing and items. My Secretary (one of the victims) had to take a day off to help sort through all the items and distribute, as they are beyond ecstatic!

Thank you all again for all you do to make a positive difference in the lives of people in need!

Best,

Alice Phelps
Principal
American Horse School

This is from the two one-room Yurok elementary schools for our Halloween donations last year!

January 23, 2026

Dear Friends of the Pine Ridge Reservation,

On behalf of the entire Weitchpec Elementary School community, I want to extend my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude for your extraordinary generosity. Your donation of Halloween decorations and prizes brought so much joy and excitement to our students, and your kindness made a tremendous difference in our ability to host our Halloween Carnival this year.

Because of your support, our school was transformed into a festive, magical space filled with laughter, wonder, and excitement. Students walked through the halls with wide eyes and huge smiles, amazed by the decorations and thrilled by the variety of prizes they were able to win. Many families shared how special the event felt, and it was truly heartwarming to see our students experiencing such a memorable celebration—something made entirely possible because of your compassion and generosity.

Your continued support means more to us than words can express. You consistently uplift our school, our families, and most importantly, our children. Your willingness to give, to care, and to invest in our community creates lasting memories and reminds our students that there are people beyond our school walls who believe in them and want to brighten their world.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making our Halloween Carnival unforgettable and for everything you do to support our school. We are truly grateful for your partnership and the positive impact you bring to our small but mighty community.

With the warmest appreciation,

Tanisha Warden
Secretary/Librarian/Media Tech

This thank you letter is for the 2025 Christmas gifts we sent to Navajo children and elders, as well as general donations during the year!

January 6, 2026

Dear Chris,

Happy New Year!  We just returned from our 2-week break – we had a lot of clearing that we were doing for the kids.  Christmas activities were very fun for the kids. They had hot chocolate and storytelling sessions. All the kids were able to take home a gift that was donated. We had all the parents show up for Santa’s visit and the kids sang and danced for the Christmas program.

Thank you for the donations of clothes, towels, toys, food, yarn and other gifts of books. If we did not have the donations, we would not be able to send each child a gift, so thank you on behalf of the parents – the elders received gifts too.  THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

Etta Shirley, Principal

Little Singer Community School

This thank you letter is from the Piñon High School Librarian for the books donated to Piñon Elementary, Middle and High School during 2025.

January 5, 2026

Dear Friends,

I am writing on behalf of the students and faculty at the Piñon elementary, middle and high schools to thank you for the generous donation of books to our libraries in these schools. Pinon, AZ is a small community on the Navajo Reservation. It is isolated; it takes two hours to drive to towns of any size. Unfortunately, it is plagued with many of the social ills common to Native American reservations. Student achievement and reading levels are generally low and literacy is seldom modeled in the home. The books you donated have been placed in the respective library collections so all students can benefit from them. Due to limited funding and the normal loss of books each year, additions to our libraries are welcomed!

Again, thank you all for your generous donations. The support you have given to our students and families is much appreciated and the message that literacy is important is invaluable.

Sincerely,

Mr. Loren Omoth
Librarian, Piñon High School
