OST Partnership for Housing, Inc.

OST Partnership for Housing, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on Pine Ridge Reservation established to address the housing shortage on the reservation. Partnership for Housing is dedicated to the goal of alleviating adverse living conditions, particularly the overcrowding of homes, by assisting families to obtain affordable mortgages on the reservation.

Partnership for Housing offers training courses in budgeting, finance/credit issues, the homeownership process, home maintenance, and home ownership responsibilities.

They have also developed the OSTPHS Self-Help Housing Program in which families design, build, and pay for their own homes. These families work together in groups to build the homes, supervised by knowledgeable, experienced construction trainers who guide them through the construction process. Participating families build together in the construction yard in Kyle and their completed homes are then transported to their permanent locations.

OST Partnership for Housing can use multiple tax-deductible donations of any of the items listed below.

Aaron Huey's effort to photograph poverty in America led him to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where the struggle of the native Lakota people — appalling, and largely ignored — compelled him to refocus. Five years of work later, his haunting photos intertwine with a shocking history lesson.
