A Book Donation Drive for the Indigenous Little Free Library on the Hoopa Reservation in Northern California (Hupa, Yurok, Karuk)

This Indigenous Little Free Library on the Hoopa Reservation in Northern California serves Hupa, Yurok and Karuk families.  The families don’t own many books of their own so this ILFL can use our book donations to help replenish their stock. Please take a look at their wishlist below and let me know what you are sending so I can update the tally here. If you’ve got other books with a Native American theme or by a Native American author or any general fiction and non-fiction for both kids (infant through teens) and adults they are very welcome and new/gently used copies are fine to order/send. The US Mail media rate is the most inexpensive way to ship them if you are sending books from home.

Thanks so much for your support and books!

Aaron Huey's effort to photograph poverty in America led him to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where the struggle of the native Lakota people — appalling, and largely ignored — compelled him to refocus. Five years of work later, his haunting photos intertwine with a shocking history lesson.
