This thank you letter is for the backpacks and school supplies we donated to Jack Norton Elementary School and Weitchpec Yurok Magnet Elementary School, both one-room schools, on the Yurok Rez. Donate Halloween goodies to them here!

September 22, 2025

Dear Friends of the Pine Ridge Reservation,

On behalf of our school, and students we would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation of back-to-school supplies. From backpacks and pencils to paper, paint and everything in between, your kindness has provided our children with all they need to start the school year ready to learn and succeed.

Because of your support, each student is able to go home with the necessary tools for the great year ahead. These supplies not only meet practical needs but also show our children that they are cared for and supported by a community beyond their own. Setting out the backpacks full of supplies and watching the students pick their very own backpack was an awesome feeling. Our students and community truly appreciate all the donations and continued support.

Thank you, with sincere gratitude, for helping us create a strong and positive start to the school year. Your generosity truly makes a lasting difference, and we are deeply appreciative of your continued commitment to our students and their education.

With Sincere appreciation,

Tanisha Warden
Jack Norton Elementary and Weitchpec Yurok Magnet Elementary School
Secretary/Librarian/Media Tech

Dear Friends of Pine Ridge,

I want to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me fill up my Little Free Library. Your generosity has not only stocked the shelves with wonderful books, but it has also filled my heart with gratitude.

Every time I see someone stop by to pick up a book, I’m reminded of the kindness and support that made this possible. What may seem like a simple act—donating books—has created something so much bigger: a place of connection, imagination, and joy for people in my community.

It means so much to me to know that, even from afar, friends like you are helping share the gift of reading and learning. Your thoughtfulness has made a lasting impact, and I am truly grateful.

With love,

Amy M. Willhite
Indigenous Little Free Library Steward (Cherokee)

This thank you letter is for the recent book drive we worked on for an Indigenous Little Free Library on the White Earth Nation. If you have more books to send to the clinic, click here–Thanks!

July 18, 2025

Dear Book Donors,

I would like to thank all donors for their generous contributions! I can’t relay how greatly received and appreciated the books have been to the children of the White Earth Nation. Children’s visits to the clinic are not always a positive experience, especially at the dental clinic where I am located. Having the Indigenous LFL there to give them something to take their mind off their visit and to be able to take it home as their own is very impactful. It fills my book lovers heart to see children rummaging through the books!

On behalf of the Boys & Girls Club of the Maliseet, we want to extend our sincere thanks for your generous contributions toward our Little Library project.

Your donations of books and supplies have helped us take a big step in creating a space that fosters imagination, learning, and a lifelong love of reading for our youth. Re: Food and Supply Donations

Aye ye-kwee Chris & Donors,

From all of us here in the Elders Nutrition Program, I want to sincerely thank you for your ongoing generosity and support of our Yurok elders.

The thoughtful variety of pantry staples, canned goods, personal care items, and household essentials, ranging from dried goods to hygiene products like shampoo, dish soap, and everything in between truly makes a difference for our elders. Thanks to your support, those we serve not only receive the food and supplies they need, but they also feel seen, valued, and cared for. The consistency and thoughtfulness behind each donation brings peace of mind and smiles to many faces, especially when they see familiar favorites like tuna, rice, and beans!

Many of our elders have told us it feels like opening a surprise box of goodies, with something new to look forward to every time, thanks to the wide variety of items you send.

Your ongoing support truly means the world to us, as well as your kindness, generosity, and being such a strong supporter to improve the lives of our elders never goes unnoticed. On behalf of the Yurok Tribal Elders Nutrition Program, Wok-hlew (thank you).

Sincerely,

Fawn Beall,
Administrative Assistant

June 6, 2025

Dear Chris,

Thank you so much for organizing the incredible book drive and for sending such a generous collection of books to our Little Free Library. I was honestly blown away by how many beautiful, thoughtful titles arrived—especially books by Indigenous authors. It means so much to have these stories available for our community.

Our library is small but deeply valued, and thanks to you and your amazing donors, we now have a wonderful variety of books to offer. It’s already made a difference—kids are stopping by more often, and it’s been such a joy to see them find books they’re excited about.

We’re truly grateful for your support and all the care that went into making this happen. Thank you again for lifting up our little library and helping bring more stories into the hands of our readers.

Warmly,

Dear Free Little Library Donors and Supporters,

On behalf of our Girl Scout Troop, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of books to the East Lake Community Center. Your thoughtful contribution has brought so much joy to the children in the community. They absolutely love exploring the wide variety of books, and it’s been heartwarming to see and hear how these stories spark their imaginations and curiosity. Hey Chris!

Thank you so much for all of the amazing quality gifts you’ve been sending our way! We’ve been letting the kids unwrap the boxes and they get so excited when I have them waiting on the pool table for them when they walk in. The STEM kits, sewing kits, and UNO have all been getting put to good use at the center. The work you do is amazing and has our kids smiling from ear to ear. We greatly appreciate the donations!

Re: Thank You for Supporting Our Second Annual Elders Summit

Aye ye-kwee Chris & Donors,

On behalf of our Yurok Elders Nutrition team, we want to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous support of our second annual Elders Summit. This gathering has quickly become a cherished tradition, offering our elders a chance to reconnect with one another, enjoy a meal together, and engage directly with tribal leadership about how we can better serve them. Your donations truly helped make this year’s event special. From the practical and thoughtful items like heavy-duty tarps, trash bags, garden hoses and attachments, gardening tools, toilet paper, flashlights, and mops to the unexpected but incredibly generous KitchenAid mixer, every gift brought joy and utility to our elders. The mixer, in particular, was such a lovely surprise that it was featured as one of the grand prizes!

Thanks to your kindness, our elders not only left with helpful resources, but also with full hearts, knowing that people like you are looking out for their well-being. We’re grateful for your continued support and partnership in honoring and uplifting the elders of our community — Wok-hlew (thank you).

Sincerely,

This thank you letter is from the Principal of Jack Norton Elementary and Weitchpec Yurok Magnet School for the Easter donations. Thanks to all who helped! If you’d like to send birthday supplies click here.

April 14, 2025

Dear Chris and FOPR,

It amazes me that individuals across the United States of America send love via USPS and UPS to my schools. I was just talking to my staff about how I believe our school gives our students the highest level of support in our district and that is mostly because of the generous donations from the many wonderful people of FOPR—-thank you, thank you, thank you!

The Easter donations were over the top and will provide our kids with a fun-filled day of activities before they leave for break. The candy-filled eggs will be a favorite during our Easter Egg Hunt this Friday. I will have a few golden eggs filled with money just to keep the Easter Egg Hunt interesting. We have a huge lower field for students to search for eggs—they get very excited just before the hunt.

The Girl Scout cookies are always a welcomed sweet treat at school and my students/staff enjoy eating them in the afternoon or during break—thank you.

I hope this letter conveys the thankfulness everyone at WES feels towards the people that make up FOPR. My schools are more caring places due to the fact that we can offer to students all the wonderful donated items to them throughout the year. Kids are definitely feeling the love.

Thanks again for all you have done.

Sincerely,

Jason L. Henderson, Principal
Jack Norton Elementary School
Weitchpec Yurok Magnet Elementary School

February 11, 2025

Dear Chris and FOPR,

Thank you for the many Valentine’s Day donations. We have bagged up the many Hershey’s Kisses, Jolly Rancher lollipops, and other candies into student’s individual bags to give to them on Valentine’s Day during their party.
My staff have used the mini-lights and Valentine’s Day Banners to decorate our office and lunch room—they are beautiful. Thank you. The decorations keep a festive joy in the hearts of my students as they go about their day doing school work.
The balloons, crepe paper, stickers, and Valentine’s Day cards will all go into making this year’s party the best. We received so many great items from the FOPR donors this year it really gives my students a positive/fun event to look forward to. We are so thankful for your never-ending support of our students.

This thank you letter is from Jack Norton Elementary School for the school Cooking Club donations. Thanks to all who helped!

January 10, 2025

Dear Chris and FOPR,

Our cooking club at JNES is thriving because of your generous donations. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued donations of cooking supplies. Your support has been instrumental in the success of our club and has provided students with invaluable opportunities to explore their culinary interests. Thanks to your kindness, our students have developed a newfound appreciation for cooking, and their enthusiasm has positively influenced our school lunch program. Many of our club members are now scrutinizing/examining the school lunch program, bringing fresh ideas and a greater interest in healthy, homemade meals. Our students also enjoy eating their creations too.

Your contribution has not only enriched our cooking club but has also had a broader impact on the overall well-being and engagement between staff and students. I am excited to see how my students continue to grow and see the positive changes they bring to our school. Once again, thank you for your generous support. I am deeply grateful for your involvement in helping our JNES students thrive.
