Thank You Letters from Batesland Elementary School

Dear FoPRR,

My brand new first graders and myself want to say a heartfelt philámaya for all of the amazing donations made to help make our school year fun, creative and just plain amazing!! The art supplies, books, and LCD boards with be well used and I know the children are so excited about the fun school goodies on the way.

Engagement can be such a challenge and I am confident that with your assistance, my little learners will be eager to practice their growing skills. Again, thank you for your generosity towards the beautiful children of Pine Ridge Reservation.

FoPRR,

How exciting to have my request for stability balls filled in less than a week. You’re awesome!!

Our kids are so low academically and they struggle with concentration and just sitting still to attend to lessons. I’ve seen a lot of research attesting to the benefit of these balls as chairs and I’m so excited to have the chance test them out.

Dear Friends of PRR,

Thank you all so much for all the books and school supplies for the 3rd graders at Batesland School… Wow, just, wow! I am touched and amazed at how quickly you responded to my request. This is my first year here at Batesland and my class was the largest, having just hit 30 kids! We finally hired another teacher right before Christmas. We were scraping to have supplies for both rooms and we’re so excited to start the new year ready to go.

One thing I’ve learned is that our kids often have so little at home that they take their supplies from the classroom to be able to draw/write/craft at home. As a result, we were running scissors, glue & crayons between our rooms just to finish holiday projects in December.

Again, thank you all so much for thinking of us and helping provide a productive and creative classroom experience for our 3rd graders! As a member of FoPRR for some time prior to getting this job, it doesn’t surprise me to see you all step up, but it warms my heart to be the recipient!
