Thank You from Red Cloud Middle School

Dear Friends of Pine Ridge –

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all the help that you give to the schools on the reservation. My request for books was met with in 24 hours. I am so impressed, that there are people out there who are willing to help and encourage the children in their studies. The copies of Daniel’s Story will be used this spring by my 8th grade students. We do a Holocaust unit at the end of the year. It is always good for these kids to experience the injustice that others have gone through.

It is my hope and dream that one day I will be able to take a group of these students to Washington D.C. so that they may see in person some of the different eras that we study including landmarks for the Civil Rights Movement, The Holocaust Museum, as well as the Museum of the American Indian and the display that the National Archives has. It is because of your help with the materials such as books that one day the school may have the budget to help with a trip of this magnitude.
