Dear Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation:

Thank you so much for the gardening and canning materials. Please be assured we will put the donations to good use. People have been giving us updates on the progress of their gardens, which suffered a bit because of the heat and watering restrictions. But folks seem to find a way to irrigate their plots.

Canning is a skill that many of our younger clients and community members have never had a chance to learn. With the canning supplies we hope to introduce a new generation into canning and eating fresh produce processed themselves. We are organizing several canning workshops in mid-August to coincide with local harvesting times for many root veggies. After the workshop participants will be able to take their canning tools home.

Hopefully, this will spark renewed interest in an excellent way to cut down on food costs and help a household be more self- sufficient. Again, thank you so very much for generosity and your thoughtfulness.

Thank you for remembering the Partnership for Housing. Our organization is a very small non-profit that has limited funding. Your support for our efforts to promote asset building and financial education is encouraging.

We now offer monthly homeownership classes as well as two financial educatiion classes throughout the reservation. Supplies are always needed. Thank you for helping us help ourselves. You are a great partner.
