Nursing Students Backpacks Donated
Thank you for your donations of book bags and school supplies to the Oglala Lakota College Nursing department. By donation the school supplies that you have you have given the Nursing student a sense of relief in some ways because buying the needed school supplies can become expensive and a hassle. I know that I am grateful for the back pack that I received because it makes carrying all the books easier on my back. Some students don’t have paper and pencils to take adequate notes and they have a hard time staying caught up in classes due to that. As a tutor for the TRIO student support services I try to do all that I can for my fellow students but I unfortunately, do not have the funds to buy them all that they need. I can get them some paper, pens and pencils but that is about as far as my reach can go. Seeing people that have a vested interest in the future of the people give me hope that when the time comes that I will be supported in my community. I wanted to thank you again for the supplies that you have given the Nursing program. The thought that you have all put behind what you have done is very motivational and supporting thank you.

I want to extend a huge ‘Thank You’ on behalf of our students here at Oglala Lakota College – Department of Nursing! You are helping them in a big way, to make their dream become a reality. They have books that can weigh up to 12 pounds for one book, and they have a few, and carry a few binders back and forth to class every day. For many of our students, just the sheer joy of being accepted into our program was enough, they hadn’t quite thought enough into the future to begin to purchase the many supplies you have donated for them, so that when classes began and they needed the paper and highlighters, we were able to open up our boxes of supplies to them with big smiles.
Your never-ending generosity amazes us. May it come full circle to you all someday! Pilamaya ye! (Thank you!)

I am a single mother of two beautiful girls and drive 90 miles to come to class M-T and sometimes Friday. In the face of adversity, my little family and I strive through it all. They attend Headstart programs while I make the trek to Nursing School. It was a challenge to get to this point…actually in Nursing School!
So while I count my ducks and my blessings everyday, I want to say Wopila Tanka (Thank you)! I appreciate every thing and everyone who supports my goal in becoming a Registered Nurse.

Thank you for your donation of school supplies including; highlighters, flash drives, binders, backpacks etc.. I greatly appreciate your generosity, time and effort you put into donating these items. it will defiantly help with a lot of different things during my schooling in nursing. To whom it my concern,
I would like to thank for you for supplying us nursing school students with the school supplies; due to the fact that we are majoring in one of the toughest fields out there we do need these items it’s more like a requirement. From being swamped with being a full time mom and working I wasn’t able to get school supplies I was too busy or it just didn’t cross my mind at the time.
I was a little underestimating the books required for my classes and didn’t know they would be such heavy books, the rolling backpack is a huge help. Instead of carrying such a heavy bag on my back causing back pain I can roll it; on the plus side I can fit majority of my books in it. Again thank you for the rolling backpack, pens, highlighters, binders etc.

Hello Friends of the Pine Ridge Reservation, my name is G.S. and I’m a student enrolled here at the OLC Nursing School. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the rolling back pack and the 3 ring binder.
