To all who have donated office supplies:

I want to send this out to all of you who have donated office supplies to Oglala Lakota CASA .We are so appreciative of all that you have given to our office so that we may do our work. The supplies that you have sent are here and available for our use so that we don’t have to stop in our busy schedules and process more paperwork to get our supplies purchased!

You are so kind and generous in giving to the Oglala Lakota CASA Program and the need for this service to the Children on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Again please sincerely accept our Thanks.

Woplila Tanka (a big Thank You)

Greetings,

The Oglala Lakota CASA Program thanks all who donated Christmas gifts to the children–approximately 140 items were donated and we made gift bags for the children in our program. These children are those who are in the system at no fault of their own.

Thanks also for your donations of warm coats. They are being given to the children who we see that have a need, and they’ve been so happy to receive them.

Also, thank you to those of you who have donated office supplies, this helps in so many ways. With your help we have been able to provide supplies for the advocates who are providing services to the children.

Lastly, to the people who have been so generous with monetary donations, we thank you so much as this assists the program in more ways than one. It helps us to both provide assistance for training and for visits to the children who are placed in residential and foster homes.

Do not let yourselves go unnoticed and do know that by your generosity and sharing you are making a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.

Wopila tanka (a big thank-you)

Aaron Huey's effort to photograph poverty in America led him to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where the struggle of the native Lakota people — appalling, and largely ignored — compelled him to refocus. Five years of work later, his haunting photos intertwine with a shocking history lesson.
