Here’s a thank you letter from Havasupai Elementary School on the Havasupai Reservation for a school supplies donation drive.
October 24, 2020
Dear Chris & Donors:
On behalf of the Havasupai Elementary School we would like to thank you for the school supplies. Our students appreciate everything you do for them with the supplies. On March 2020, our reservation was closed due to the virus so the school was closed down. On September 17th school started but due to the closure of the Havasupai Indian Reservation parents weren’t able to leave the reservation to get supplies for their children. Havasupai Elementary School has grades kindergarten through 8th grade. The supplies were much needed. Thank you for the support you’ve given to the school here on the Havasupai Indian Reservation.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for the school supplies that you sent to the students and their families – even though we have a pandemic; the parents drove up and they picked up their child’s supplies.. They were so appreciative of the supplies that they received. I want to say thank you to the people who donated- its hard work to to drive around and deliver the supplies because a lot of families do not have transportation so we decided to have the school deliver.
With the new CARES ACT funds that came to the Navajo Nation, a lot of families are receiving electricity and water lines which is quite exciting; we may have all family homes hooked up and lit up by the end of December 2020. But just want to thank you all for all that you have done through the summer – with all the water, food, supplies, beds, mattresses, blankets, sheets and pillows that were donated to the students here at Little Singer School.
May the Lord richly bless you and all the work that you do with families.
Respectfully,
Etta Shirley, Principal
Little Singer Community School

Dear Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation Donors!
What huge giving hearts you all have, in this exceptionally unique time we are all experiencing.
We cannot express enough, how thankful we are for ALL of your generous donations!
This is just the foundation our students need to assist them in their journey to becoming RNs – every little bit helps to ease the stress.
Again Pilamaye (Thank you!)

Friends of Pine Ridge,
Thank you all for your hearts and efforts to bring food into our reservation to help the families in dire need. It has helped tremendously throughout this pandemic. We were able to deliver to homes with children to help while they were not in school and at home. There have been many homes that were quarantined due to COVID, and currently, there is an entire community with 67 homes quarantined. We are able to deliver food boxes to the homes that are under quarantine along with toilet paper and some cleaning supplies.
Thank you again for all you do and for bringing relief to countless families!
Blessings,
Alice Phelps, Director

Good afternoon Chris and Friends
Oh my gosh!!!!!!!, I don’t even know where to start with thanking you for all the donations you made. The families really needed food and you were able to give them water, fresh fruits and vegetables for the last 5 months. The money donations that came in really helped the school. Now the beds are arriving and two families already took the beds for their children, they are so excited.
All the students will be online for 2 quarters and hopefully by January, the virus will be a lot more settled. A lot of families were affected by the virus and most of all we will be needing emotional and mental help for the students and families; we will be available for them via zoom meetings.
The little things that the families received brightened their eyes up and are ever so thankful for being remembered. Thank you for the books, masks, bags, beds, sheets, towels, soap, shampoos, etc.
Chris, can you let Sarah Courg know that we received the books, she wanted to know if they were received. Everything went kind of out of order for the last 5 months. The virus was so high, we had no internet, no power and no water at the school for 3 months; I know that we got behind on a lot; but finally we are back. The power and internet is back on, the water is still off in most of the buildings except for three so we are ok.
But I just want to thank you all for being there in your thoughts and prayers, if there was a knot to hang onto through the tough times it’s your notes of letting us know that we are in your thoughts. May the Lord bless you richly.
Thank you,
Mrs. Shirley, Principal
Little Singer Community School

Hi Chris
I want to thank you for the FoPRR Donations. Families have been helped a lot with the summer donations that have been going on and especially the face masks that are coming in handy for all the families. The food is really helping too. Water was really on high demand so they came in and went out quickly.
The money donations too were used to buy items that the families immediately needed such as fresh milk, eggs fruits and vegetables.
We just want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts…May the Lord bless you all richly. Thank you so much!!!!!
Love, Mrs. Shirley

Greetings to you all,
It is with much Gratitude that you all have been so generous at such at time of our world right now. Oglala Lakota Children’s Justice Center has
been kept very busy with the work and needs of serving the children who are at risk in these environments. One may continue to advocate for the
best interests of the Children with safety and well being at the forefront. We ask ourselves and I put his out to others “How are the
Children Today?” This being asked in our community raises the attention of those of us who “speak” for the children and those who are
“caretakers of the Children”
With your recent drive for gifts (Easter and Spring) it is comforting to know how much the Children are cared for and sharing your compassion for
them as well. For those of you who have came forth with sharing of your generous monetary donations we give you a huge Thank You! This helps attribute to
the daily needs that OLCJC comes upon. Your generous contributions helps immensely in the “voice for the Children’ and needs that arise as we
continue to serve the Children. OLCJC is currently working on our first newsletter. It is with volunteers who help to do this and many other projects that we are
embarking upon. Please visit our website at www.lakotacjc.org and our newsletter will be coming about on our website within this month of May.
Again, Wopila iciciyapi(a huge thank you) may you feel in your hearts as well the gratefulness and compassion for our Children who have been
traumatized and may be in the system at no fault of their own.
With Gratitude,
Arlana Bettelyoun, Director
Oglala Lakota Children’s Justice Center
