A Thank You Letter from Wolf Creek Elementary

April 27, 2016 by FoPRR

Here’s a thank you letter I received today from Wolf Creek Elementary School for the easy reader books we’ve been donating for the kids!

We’ve just completed the Level 2 book drive and will post soon about Level 3 for the school shortly.

April 27, 2016

My teachers are ecstatic with the new books for their classroom libraries. You should have seen them, it was like Christmas for them…hearing their excited chatter, how they could share and use them with small groups – guided reading centers.

Thank you all so much for thinking of Wolf Creek School and all our students and staff. Your huge generosity helps with the tiredness of the teachers (brought back some passion and excitement). That in itself I sooooo appreciate!

They work so hard for our wonderful children so it is important that they are taken care of as well and you all did that – thank you. Students win and teachers win – everyone feels good and you all created that! Again, thank you so much!

Aaron Huey's effort to photograph poverty in America led him to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where the struggle of the native Lakota people — appalling, and largely ignored — compelled him to refocus. Five years of work later, his haunting photos intertwine with a shocking history lesson.
