Dear Friends,
Thank you so much the fabulous Christmas items you have sent, Christmas is once again here and gone, I cannot believe how time flies. With your help we had the Elder distribution of stockings, blankets, and heaters, we also included the beautiful hand made scarves, hats, slippers, lap blankets and ponchos, they were all needed and accepted very well with everyone, we were out of heaters quickly but because some of you send extra items, like crossword books, socks, clothing items, and personal hygiene items and extra stockings and gift bags we made more bags and they were given to adults and other children, thank you so much.
The children are enjoying the gifts that were sent, the basketballs, and footballs were one of the items that was gone immediately, the games and home made dolls were awesome, thank you for everything you and all the friends nation wide help support us with, we would not be able to provide with out your help.
PS. thank you for all the material, sewing supplies, hats, gloves, winter coats, and blankets all were accepted and appreciated by the families.
I wish we were able to sent thank you letters to each and everyone of you but we just cannot afford it, so please except this thank you letter for all your items that were sent continuously through out the year, thank you very much. Oyate Teca Project/Kyle Youth Center would like to say thank you to all of our Friends of Pine Ridge for their generous contributions to our annual Easter Party and Egg Hunt on Friday, April 18, 2014. With your donations we were able to fill 4,200 Easter eggs with the eggs, candy and prizes sent by you. We made Easter baskets and used your donations as egg hunt prizes, thank you so much.
Children were divided into five age appropriate groups and lined up on all sides of the field. When the horn blew, off they went. After all the kiddies were through and searching through their eggs for prizes, there was an egg hunt for the adults. What took our volunteers two weeks to prepare for was over in a matter of minutes! We had a total of 359 people attend this annual community event. No pizza this year but we did receive a donation from Carl of Wisconsin who brought hot dogs/Polish sausage, chips and cookies which we served after the egg hunt.
Our Easter bunny was able to make a few appearances at the Kyle HeadStart I and II classes and at the Lakota Immersion School for the younger age groups who were having their classroom Easter parties.
We would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make this event run smoothly. With only two employees at the youth center, we would not be able to provide our community programs so a big thank you to the Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation (NATIONWIDE), and our center volunteers, Marilyn, Shirae, Deanna, Jo Powell, Cindy, Latina, Claudine, Jonnie, Woniya, Crystal, Theresa, Rob, Donald, Marlene, Larry, Carol and Kevin. You are all great and very patient for filling the eggs and organizing the prizes.
A very big thank you to everyone involved in this year’s Easter party!

Dear Chris and Friends of Pine Ridge,
We would like to say thank you very much for your donation of heaters, stockings and Christmas items for the Kyle Youth Center. Christmas packages were made for the elders at the Sr. Citizens center which included a heater, stocking, an afghan or blanket sent by you all, and Christmas card. The delivery was made December 13 & 14th, and even after the delivery date we had elders coming in requesting a heater, (or they heard) what we were doing and said that they were not at the center when we delivered so would they still be able to receive a heater. (Yes)
I really want to thank you so much for the heaters because of the tough winter we had this year, many were out of wood and with the roads being terrible the heaters were really useful and greatly appreciated by all who received them.
Thank you for the continued support of blankets, hats, gloves, scarves, jackets some were taken to the school lobbies, store fronts, Sr. center, clinic, and post office; we would all monitor the boxes and refill if we had more, so thank you so much for those.
