Thank Yous from OST Partnership for Housing

December 27, 2013 by FoPRR

Dear Chris and Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation:

On behalf of our homebuyers we want to thank you very much for the beautiful home decor books. Being able to decorate your living quarters the way you want to and still keep it affordable is new to many people on the Reservation. But it gives them the true sense of pride and ownership.

We have two loan closings coming up and will give each of the families one of the books as a gift. The others are in our small library at the office where anyone can access them. The books are beautiful!

Thank you all so much.

Emma “Pinky” Clifford

To the Generous Donors from Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation:

As usual, the donors really came through to help us. The Annual Powwow was held at the end of last week. We set up a table under a shade and talked with visitors who came by our display. We had a photo op with the Oglala Sioux Tribe President, Bryan V. Brewer. The event kicked off National Homeownership Month which is designated by the USDA Rural Development every June. President Brewer presented the proclamation to our Executive Director Emma “Pinky” Clifford.

We had a great day–it was a bit hot but clear and dry. We were able to give out many nice gifts and even kept a few door prizes for our booth at the Annual Oglala Nation Powwow in August.

A very big thank you to all of you from all of us at OST Partnership for Housing Inc.

Spread the love

Aaron Huey's effort to photograph poverty in America led him to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where the struggle of the native Lakota people — appalling, and largely ignored — compelled him to refocus. Five years of work later, his haunting photos intertwine with a shocking history lesson.
