Thank You Letter from Red Shirt School 2008

Chris/Friends of Pine Ridge,

Thank you everyone for all the board games. The librarian has been scheduling special game days to teach the students the vast variety of games you have sent. The students love them and now are caught playing board games before breakfast.

The games are not only teaching them strategies, but teaching them cooperation. We are so blessed to have you. Once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Barbara, Staff, and Red Shirt Students

Spread the love

Aaron Huey's effort to photograph poverty in America led him to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where the struggle of the native Lakota people — appalling, and largely ignored — compelled him to refocus. Five years of work later, his haunting photos intertwine with a shocking history lesson.
