Good Afternoon Chris,

We would like to send a big thank you for helping us to assist some of our clients to have a very nice Christmas. All the gifts items that were sent were so thoughtful and we could tell that everyone really thought about our clients needs when they selected the gift items that were sent.

We were especially grateful that everyone thought about the scare with the toys and had wonderful alternative ideas for the children. Everything that we received were safe, fun and enjoyed by all. We all realize that there are times that are hard both emotionally and financially but with the love of all that gave this past Holiday helped to ease any worry that a child might not have a Christmas.

Thank you so much for caring.

Greetings from the Oglala Sioux Tribe Victims Assistance in Indian Country

It is with great pleasure that we give thanks for everyone that has placed our clients in their hearts.

Your hard work and donations are greatly appreciated not only by the staff here at VAIC but also all of our clients, their families and especially the children of our families.

It has been almost two years since I have been in this program and I can honestly tell you that it is one of the most important services that I have done. Although there is a lot of pain that comes with the crimes we deal with, I go home each evening knowing that we truly have compassion for our Lakota people and support the healing process.

We understand that this cannot be done as one, but with many it is so powerful and the donations we received for Easter from all of you is such a blessing. We know without a doubt that your donations help to ease the pain when our clients are suffering. It helps them to not worry about what they will do for their children during times of celebrations when they do not have the gas money to go to court or go to counseling.

Thank you so much for your blessings of donations as we are so appreciative and happy to take these special gifts to the people.

Wopila, (thank you)

To all our Friends of Pine Ridge:

We would like to send to you our sincerest greetings and a great big warm hand shake and many, many hugs. We send to you the coziest, most beautiful greeting to wrap around you and keep you warm and protected. This is how much we appreciate what you do for us and our clients here at our program.

We know how much our clients are thankful for what you do for them, because we get the pleasure of hearing all the nice comments when we delivered the turkey food baskets. Not only do we hear the comments but we feel and see the appreciation they have.

There are many families who live out in the country and cannot always get into town. We make sure that we drive to them with the delivery. You cannot begin to imagine the feelings that overcome us as we prepare the food baskets and even more as we drive down the highway to their homes knowing they will be waiting for our small, bouncy van to arrive.

Sincerely,

Rosalie Janis, Program Director

Ehani Was'te Chris,

We truely enjoyed delivering the Easter baskets to our victims. The Victims appreciate every thing that we give to them and do for them.

One of our friends sent a new microwave. This microwave went to one of our families who have experienced one crisis after another. We told the Mom of this family that we wanted her to have it in hopes that she would find the strength to help us help herself. She is such a special person and is dealing with so much pain and trauma in her and her children's lives.

She is only one of our clients, yet each and everyone is touched in a special way when they receive their gifts from all our friends.

A Hearfelt Thank You from all of us here at the Oglala Sioux Tribe Victims Assistance Program and all the clients that we reach out to each day we are here.

Again, Thank you so much
