Dear Members of FoPRR,

On behalf of the TARC team of Red Cloud High School, Stevie, Dylan, Ashley, Danielle and Willie , we would like thank you for your generous donations. Without your help we would not have been able to pursue our passion of rocketry in participating in the Team America Rocketry Contest. We were very excited when we heard about the contest and the opportunity to build a potential contest rocket. However, with our very low budget we were not able to order the parts needed to complete our rocket.

With your generosity we are now able to compete in the contest and we are working hard and giving it our all.

On behalf of our physics class High School at Red Cloud we would like to thank you for your generous donations in helping us to build our rocket to compete in the Team America Rocket Contest. Your donation has been very helpful because without your donations our dream of competing in this contest wouldn't be possible. Again thank you, wopila tanka.

To all the members of FoPRR who contributed to the Red Cloud School drive for science electronic lab equipment, I no longer know what to say to express my gratitude for all the packages that arrived for this lab class. We stand indebted and amazed in the eyes of your generosity. Some members sent me an exceptional amount of donations this time around, and I recognize their willingness to help others and it is great to see. It is wonderful to have all the supplies together so our kids can do some hands on activities and learn more about electricity, electronics, soldering, etc.

As you are able to guess, our kids really like doing the hands on activities where they can see learning in action and they produce something with their own hands and skills. Not to mention some of these projects are just plain cool. Without your support, we would not have been able to do these labs and would be limiting their learning experience .

Again thank you so much for your continued support and please know your contributions are being put to good use.

Dear Friends,

I'd like to thank you so much for your support of Red Cloud's new Advanced Placement English course for seniors. It's very exciting to be offering this course to our students for the first time--and to have such a strong interest in it. Half of the senior class chose to enroll! We have relied strongly this year on the books and materials you have donated. Without your generous support, this course would not have been possible. I am so appreciative of all you do to support my work at Red Cloud and to support our students.

Please know what a difference you are making in the lives of many people!

Best,

Elisabeth Ellington

Dear Friends of Pine Ridge,

In the ways of the Lakota, I greet you with a warm and heartfelt handshake. Your continued concern and generosity helps to offset the expense of running a school on the reservation.

Your most recent donation, The 23rd Cycle, is being used by the Red Cloud High school physics class. We are studying space weather, and with so few books available on the subject, this donation is most appreciated.

Again, thank you for your support.

Dear Friends of Pine Ridge,

Thank you so much for your generosity in helping us get materials for the first Advanced Placement English course to be offered at Red Cloud High School. We are excited to offer this course, because statistics show that students who complete AP courses in high school are much more likely to graduate from college. 100% of our graduating seniors plan to attend college, and it is my hope that this course will prepare them academically for the challenges they will face as college students.

I really appreciate your generous contributions of the nonfiction reading materials we need to make this course a success. I also know the students will be pleased to learn this fall that many of their books are donations from their "Friends"!

Best,

Elisabeth Ellington

Dear Friends of Pine Ridge,

We, the senior class of 2006, would like to thank you for all the donations, fundraising and all the help you have given us over the past two years. We really appreciate it. What you have done to help us go to Denver means a lot to us as a class. This is a really special time for us to spend together as classmates and friends. It will be our last time together before we go in different directions to college.

Our class worked hard this whole year to make this possible. Because of our fundraising events, there have been relationships between new friends that have developed in our class and the friendships that have been there for years have gotten betterall due to the fact that we have been working together as a team.

Since it's our last year together we are trying to make our final trip as memorable as we possibly can. So far, our plans are starting to come along. The trip we talked about and wanted to take is to go to Denver. So far we have raised almost enough to get there. Your help is going to get us the rest of the way so we wrote this letter to tell you how much we appreciate all the things you have done to help us get there. Thank you.

Your Friends,
The Red Cloud School Senior Class of 2006

Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation,

I wanted to send you a note, thanking you for the books you sent. My freshman class uses numerous titles as they are involved with the Accelerated Reading program. With this curriculum, students read books of their choice that have been approved by the Accelerated Reading program. They read them independently and then take a test over the book. Each book has an amount of points attached to it. According to how they do on the test, they receive points. These points add up to an individual goal that each student has.

My goal with this program is to increase the students' reading comprehension. This was proved out last year when 95% of my students increased their reading levels by two grade levels or more. In order to keep improving this program for my kids, I need to continue to increase my library. That is why the books you sent are so appreciated. Without budgeted money to purchase any new books this year, the books you sent are providing a wider range of titles for my students to read. Your generosity is helping my students to prepare for the future. Thank you so much!!!

Sincerely,
Susan Daniels

Dear FOPRR,

I am writing this letter to thank the people that have donated to the Red Cloud Senior Class Trip. Many are not aware that Red Cloud Indian School is a private Catholic school in which the school relies on people such as the Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation.

The seniors of the Red Cloud High School have raised funds throughout the year for graduation and their senior trip; although they have raised money it wasn't enough to cover the cost of their senior trip as most of the funds went toward their graduation.

It was your generosity that has made it possible for the seniors to enjoy one last trip together as a senior class. The senior class is very grateful to all who donated. Again, I would like to say Thank You for your generosity and your compassion.

Sincerely,
Charles Pourier
