Sept. 12, 2005 Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation, First of all, I would like to thank you for a wonderful helping hand and supporting the Lakota children here on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The Lakota Culture class means a lot to these kids and they look forward to coming in and learning new arts and crafts and the culture, history, and the language. A lot of these are new to some kids and they begin to explore and discover their own way of life. With all these cultural items here in the classroom the kids will begin to feel empowered and secure that the Lakota teachers around the reservation care about them. Making a change in a child's life means a lot, just to see that smile on them and you know that they are spiritually happy. So once again my heart goes out to you and a warm hand shake from my heart for your generous support and encouraging words that make teachers like us feel great about ourselves with generous people like yourselves out there to lend a helping hand. Even the kids are looking forward to a great school year. Wopila Tanka he ca. Wakanyeja owicakiya pi ca ni cante etan. (Big thank you for helping kids out from your hearts.)
